Am I hurting my body or liver health with the supplements I am taking?
Here are the supplements I take on daily basis
4 hydroxycut pills a day. (2 in morning, 2 in evening)
Optimum Nutrition Tribulus Tablets. (One in morning, one in evening)
Muscletech Creatine (Powder Form) -Only one serving on lifting days, (approx. 4 times a week)
Jack3d (Only on lifting days, two servings before lift)
BSN Nitrix Nitric Oxide Tablets. 9 a day, (3 before each meal)
3 fish oil tablets a day.
Is this too much? Is it bad for my liver and kidney health? I drink approximately a half gallon of water a day? Serious bodybuilders, knowledgeful people please help! 5 stars to best answer!
Answer
All oral medications go to the liver, to be broken down before going to the rest of the body. I'm going to use the example of vitamins. People may take alot of different kinds. There are two types of vitamins: water soluble and fat soluble. The water soluble ones usually don't stay in the body long...they are disposed of in the urine. So, if someone takes too much... that may not be a problem. However the fat soluble ones don't leave the body as fast. Many are stored in the liver itself. So taking too much can cause it to be toxic to the body and cause health problems. Just as people can have too little amounts, they can also have too high amounts.
Another example is certain minerals. Some people have hereditary conditions where the body holds onto too much iron or copper. However, someone can also consume too much iron or copper. This builds up in their organs and can affect every organ of the body. It is known that some symptoms of what a person takes into the body (like carrots which has beta carotene) which causes the skin, if eaten in excess, to become yellow....can mimic Jaundice (which is the yellowing of the whites of the eyes and skin due to bilirubin levels being high because of biliary or liver disease.
The point I'm trying to make is that everyone's body chemistry is different and how that person body handles different substances put into it is different. So, no one here would be able to tell you how your body will react to it or whether it is beneficial to do it or not. Your doctor does blood testing and by those tests results he can tell if your lacking in certain things, need replacement of certain things and how your body is reacting to it. Therefore, he would be the best one to ask this question to. He also has more knowledge about how the drugs are structured and work in the body and your medical background.
Those who have liver disease are told, No alcohol and not to take any medications that are not approved by or prescribed by their doctors. One reason is because the liver cells are damaged and may not handle the drugs appropriately now...another reason is because most people don't know how these drugs react with other drugs, foods, etc....another reason is because they take things thinking it will help when it will actually cause more damage or harm them. Mistakes being made where a person takes acetaminophen with alcohol which can cause instant liver cell damage is a good example.
I hope this has helped. Best wishes

Daily routine that gives the best workout of your life
The biggest thing that I use is Body Fortress Whey Protein (available at Amazon). Right after a workout I mix 16 ounces of (Organic lowfat milk)-regular non-organic milk is loaded with things that are terrible for you. Organic costs more but in this case is worth it. I mix the 16 ounces milk with one scoop of the protein powder and add in a banana for the potassium. Mix this up for 1 minute and I have a delicous shake that delivers all my muscles need to grow stronger for the next time. I do take a Centrum daily but that is it as far as supplements go.
The biggest thing if you want to get stronger and or bigger is to be smart about your workouts. I do ZERO exercises that target only one muscle such as bicep curls. That is a waste of time. After about one hour your body starts to undergo depletion in which your body is starved for energy sources..After a hard one hour workout STOP and give your body what it needs. I do 20-30 minutes of intense CORE exercises every other day (tons of stuff on YouTube) you can mix this up. What I do is one exercise after the other after the other for one minute each. I usually pick about 6 exercises...Once I have done them all I rest for a minute of two and do them a second time. If I have a few minutes left I do jumping jacks till the time runs out. (onlinestopwatch.com is great it gives you a timer on your computer). a typical week is like this for me.
Here is my daily routine
Monday- Full Body Blast- 20-30 mins Core- Jerk and Clean 3 sets of 10 -pushups 3 sets of 30 then I do 3 sets of 20 deadlifts only bringing the weight to my waist concentrating on contracting my ABS..this is the absolute best abdominal exercise you can do bar none.
Tuesday- At least 45 minutes stretching or YOGA sounds gay but keeps you limber and injury free.
Wednesday- Shoulders, Arms, and Back CORE (again) standing rear delt raise 20 x 3 Front Dumbell Raise 20 x 3 Military Press (Dumbells followed by Barbell 10 x 3 each) Hot potato squats for one minute followed by skier swings for one minute (these are on YouTube if you need to see how they are done)
Thursday Same as Tuesday
Friday--Same as Monday
Saturday Same as Tuesday and Thursday
Sunday OFF or run or whatever...
There is nothing about this workout that will not give you the best workout of your life without killing you....If you stick with this in 3 weeks time you will see the best results of your life...good luck
For workouts remember you are trying to get stronger, not be a weird bodybuilder. Stick to compound barbell lifts. Squats should the centerpiece of your workouts. I also supplement with equate (fiber: when you eat 400grams of protein you need to overdose on fiber or poops are not fun), creatine, vitamins, glucosomine and chondritin, and lots of fish oil. If you want throw in beta-alanine go ahead it won't hurt anything.

Why weight loss supplements don't work?
Approved or otherwise, none of these weight loss supplements guarantee anything unless you establish a healthy diet and exercise program. So why not just establish a healthy diet and exercise program and keep your money? You will be spending somewhere between $2 and $4 per day on a product that is not approved or guaranteed to do anything! The only weight loss supplement I recommend is a basic multivitamin. And yes they are dangerous. Heart, liver, kidney, intestinal, and neurological damage and death have all been the result of diet pills. That is why the FDA hasn't approved any new ones for 14 years. These supplement manufacturers are using human guinea pigs (you) for these products. As long as no one gets sick or dies, and they don't get fined or shut down they will keep making and selling this junk. Whether it works or not.
I say it over and over and over. "If any one of these products really worked, why are there so many?"
The only active thing in preworkout supplements is caffeine since ephedrine was outlawed. So, you're paying for a bunch of worthless crap and caffeine...a total scam. And, of course, you're risking your health because supplements are not approved by the FDA, are virtually unregulated, do not have the protections afforded foods and drugs, are not recommended by the US National Institute of Health, do not require any testing, are often contaminated, may not even be what the label says, usually contain cheap ingredients, are often over priced scams, have been known to be dangerous, and can have numerous adverse or unwanted side effects. Your side effects are common to people with caffeine sensitivity (visual aberrations, high anxiety, nervousness, insomnia, heart palpitations, etc.).
The best health experts in the world (the US National Institute of Health), the people US doctors listen to, advise you should never take a supplement without the recommendation of a health care professional because all supplements are potentially hazardous to your health as supplements do not have to be tested. The result is many supplements are contaminated, worthless, have false advertising or label claims, and may contain dangerous or worthless chemicals or substances.
Here's an example of one scam site (bodybuilding.com) which pretends to be a bodybuilding website but is really just a front for selling supplements as evidenced by this list of over 60 dangerous supplement products they were forced to recall and take off the market --> http://www.usrecallnews.com/2009/11/body… . More here --> http://www.fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch/Safet…
Bodybuilding.com is a good example why you should never buy supplements whether you want to burn fat, gain weight, build muscle, or are just hoping to improve your health. The scammers who sell junk supplements do so by using advertising, celebrity endorsements, fake testimonials, phony interviews and news reports, bogus reviews, and every other technique possible to convince you their product is safe and effective. They have saturated the internet with thousands of web sites so no matter what you search for, you'll only find glowing reviews of their products at the top of the search results. And, the result of this effort has led an entire generation of young people to believe in fat burners, diet pills, mass gainers, pre and post workout supplements and other junk which not only do we not need but which are ineffective, a waste of money, and possibly even hazardous. The voice of truth is relatively quite compared to the $billions spent on supplement advertising, so before you buy any supplements, inform yourself with the links below.
Scammers target the young, gullible, and naive demographic because they know they can sway them with greater ease than the older, wiser buying public. But, there are some easy questions you can answer using simple logic to be able to qualify a scammer as suspect. Here are some examples.
• If there was an easy way to do hard things like burn fat or build muscle, why doesn't the whole world know about it? How could that be kept secret when that's what so many people desire?
• If there was a supplement that helped people shed pounds, why doesn't your doctor recommend it? If you're overweight, why doesn't your physician just give you the pill or recommend the acai or HCG diet or whatever? Why are physicians always telling the same story about obesity and how to cope with it?
• If there were supplements that could help burn fat or build muscle, why haven't the huge and powerful pharmaceutical companies taken them over? Why let the scammers like GNC and Weider continue to make $millions off the public when they have a much greater capacity for providing such products?
• Why do people pay big bucks to have liposuction or stomach stapling if supplements could really help them to lose fat?
There is only one good answer to all of these questions. Most of the supplements which are supposed to make you lose fat, add muscle, grow taller, kill appetite, gain weight, bulk up, get ripped, etc. just don't work. It's really that simple.
If you just can't resist buying a supplement, at the very least make sure it bears the trademark logo and name of one of the following independent testing laboratories.
• USP (US Pharmacopoeia)
• ComsumerLab.com
• NSF (NSF International)
Such testing does not guarantee effectiveness or safety but it's better than nothing. The best advice remains: Don't use supplements.

Can I buy calcium pills from store like Walmart?
Those pills also contain magnesium stearate that is a TRANS FAT, nutrient absorption inhibitor, and is toxic to the body. 5% of the contents of those vitamins contain this bad guy. The next thing to realize is that most of the ingredients in those vitamin packages are SYNTHETIC CHEMICAL ACTIVATORS, not real vitamins. Your body knows the difference between synthetic and once living sources. Many people get heart problems, cataracts, bone spurs, and kidney stones from taking those vitamins.
Vitamin D3 is a very important thing to have in your blood for many reasons, but taking the kind of D you get in milk and supplements like those found at Walmart is not what you want to put into your body! Vitamin D3 is really a sterol made from cholesterol. It's final synthesis in the body is in your kidneys. Getting out in the sun everyday is a very good idea to generate D3 in your body. There are good supplements you can take for D3, but you won't find them at Walmart!
good luck to you
