How I Know If I Am Taking Too Many Herbal Supplements?

Question : I am currently 23 years old 5'10 140 and in good shape with no prescriptions. I am currently taking saw palmetto, hydrolyzed collagen, bee propolis, bee pollen, royal jelly, eleuthero root, maca, chaga, omega 369, mixed greens powder, multi vitamin, acetyl l carnitine, goji mango acai noni juice, beta sitosterol and possibly a few more natural supplements. Could I be taking too many different kinds? I limit it to one pill a piece regardless of the recommended daily amount.

Answer1: That is way too much and you are way to young and healthy to do this. It is not necessary. All you need are some multi- vitamins and eat a good supply of fruits and veggies, take extra fiber as well as drinking approx. 70oz of water (4 bots.) You have to limit the things u put inside your body because u may be conflicting things that do not work well together. I would review the reasons I was taking those supplements and see also if those supplements have any side effect when taken together. What you could also do is take 3-5 at a time depending on needs and then rotate them when you are finished taking a bottle.

Answer2: Don't see a problem, except will the Noni, any benefit you get with Noni you will loose when you stop drinking it, and those benefit will be gone quickly! Unless your having a problem getting it up, for your age you don't really need the Maca and Saw palmetto. The bee propolis, is something that has value when your sick or weaken, I would save that for those times and not take it daily. Depending on how long you have been using the hydrolyzed collagen, if you have not seen improvement for what ever it is your trying to heal or support after two months, then stop taking it and switch to Calendula capsules (Calendula is a true healer). With all that your taking, quality of the product will make a huge different in how you feel and heal.

Answer3: Why on earth would you WANT to take that many?

A) there is no need
B) you couldn't possibly have that many things "wrong" with you
C) more than a few of those are a total waste of money
D) A couple of those have some serious side effects
E) if you are really having that much of a problem with your sex life at that age you need a doctor and a good diagnosis ~ not to mask symptoms with roots and berries which are basically bladder irritants.

Answer4: You are taking too many. Have you ever discussed you doctor? You can better eat healthy food and follow some healthy tips. That's enough for a healthy body. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and get protein form milk , meat and fish. That's it for possessing a healthy figure. If you take supplement take a good one that actually works. You can take JUICE PLUS. It is made form real fruits and vegetables, so it will provide you whole food based nutrition. It has also protein shakes. Just it is enough and eat regular food reducing the limit of junk food and high sugar mixed food. You will maintain a healthy and fit body.
